Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players through Best item upgrade upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item upgrades has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
