Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they are very good at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we evaluated the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it started. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the latest features. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor vacuum robot plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or via voice.

The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot vacuum cleaners to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom."
