It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it by voice.

The design is also more appealing than the competition. It features a sleek, high-end piece that looks like a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal to speed up cleaning.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ was quick to took away dirt, dust, and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place, rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a tiny bit of grit. Most robots can't do this. It did all of this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.

The j7+, though not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it cannot clean the stairs, is still a good option for those who want both mopping and a vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates, and it can be difficult to tell whether they're functioning until you actually witness them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors then a hybrid is the ideal choice. These robots come with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. These bots also come with various additional features like smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. The negative is that they can be expensive at retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock makes some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model. While it doesn't have some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an ideal choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a place where most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few misses in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products, can be controlled by just a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas, alter your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+, it ships with a new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once in place emptying the bin can be accomplished with relative ease. It also features a large LCD display which is great to have when you're setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people, but it's one that can aid in keeping the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of both mopping and vacuuming. Its design is one of the most innovative in the market however it's quite expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and is easily hidden when not in use. The station's main selling point is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it could get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors, for instance and doesn't come with an dock that allows you to create an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great option for those looking for a vacuum robot that can do it all.

If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are many alternatives available. Many eufy models cost substantially less.
