Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will increase 3percent of its previous attack damage every time it is upgraded.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be inserted. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will appear at the time of the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much they'll improve after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the Best item upgrader way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs You will need to place them on your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Using a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are linked to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrader mod upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can increase in price even if you don't require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens in order to do so. This will cause the item upgrades to be exchanged for a brand new one, with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste lots of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. The item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item upgrade can be extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count.
