Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on floors and carpets and can navigate around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we test the i3+ does not have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could get stuck on things like socks or power cords and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include clearing out any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. In our testing the i7+ was more agile and faster than our runner-up which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin, which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. When connected to these services, we were able communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car that is amidst a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses.
