With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxy units this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum cleaners best we tested robots that vacuum and mop could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vac works and alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house in accordance with the degree of dirt they are.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for one that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your home by using the app or voice commands. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Finally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.
