To increase the efficiency and reproducibility of the procedure, researchers have attempted to create a computer-based ADHD diagnostic tool called QbTest. It is a combination of an electronic CPT and an infrared camera which measures motor activity.

A computerized diagnostic system could reduce the time it takes to determine adult ADHD. In addition, early detection would help patients manage their symptoms.

A study performed by Aalto University researchers analyzed children's eye movements in a virtual reality game to determine whether the ML algorithm could detect differences between normal and ADHD children. The results showed that a machine learning algorithm can detect ADHD children.

Another study compared machine learning algorithms' efficiency. The results revealed that random forest methods are more effective in terms of robustness and lower risk-prediction errors. Similarly, a permutation test had higher accuracy than randomly assigned labels.
