However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of a room.

With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot vacuum that vacuums and mops that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning robot mop and vacuum mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit costly, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's going to cost you more and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
