The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuums we have tested, has a self emptying bin that automatically dumps debris in an external dirt compartment located on its charging base when it is fully filled. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and also helps prevent the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it still requires manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L that will last for four to five cleaning sessions.

Like the i7model, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores a single map while the i7 can store multiple. The i7 is also able to use its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, however the i3+ EVO can't.

Although the i3+ EVO is better in picking up debris on surfaces than the other robovacs we reviewed, it's not the best for cleaning corners and edges. It is also less gentle on furniture, despite being remarkably quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our bed, and also got stuck on cords and toys during testing.

You can schedule cleanings and set up no-go zones. You can also view the battery status. The app is easy to use, however it doesn't support Apple HomeKit. That feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple updated its footnote on its website in the beginning of November to reflect the fact that this feature has been delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with other robots, but Siri Shortcuts are.
