It also comes with an impressive suction system and an automatic hoover bin for emptying. It's the best rated robot vacuum robot hoover for carpets, although it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and offer more efficient cleaning. The robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy models from the competition. It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and better-looking. The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and cleans and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on how dirty these areas are.

If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to inform the robot of which area of your house needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. Finally the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you would think from its price. It vacuums well and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a rotating motion which is cleaner than the majority mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app also gives access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and under furniture more easily.
