However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it may have trouble in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO best vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room and sweep the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum for the majority of households, but it also fits nicely on the coffee table or shelves that you can spin around like an enchanted tool.

The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces power without fading for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases fresh air into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to meet the task that is being completed. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and it frequently goes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean.
