Many studies have studied the use of ML to detect ADHD. The majority of these studies have relied on MRI data. Others have looked at the use of eye movements. These methods offer many advantages, including the reliability and accessibility of EEG signals. However, these methods have limitations in terms of sensitivity and specificity.

A study performed by Aalto University researchers analyzed children's eye movements in an online game in order to determine whether a ML algorithm could identify the differences between normal and ADHD children. The results revealed that machine learning algorithms could be used to identify ADHD children.

Another study evaluated the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms. The results indicated that a random forest algorithm offers a higher level of robustness and higher percentages of error in risk prediction. In the same way, a test of permutation showed higher accuracy than randomly assigned labels.
