The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the top in the market, but it's expensive.

It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes numerous tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Many other robots require this.

And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the only robovacs that I've tried that does very well at collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of your home. It's not able to navigate stairs as well as competitors, and it doesn't have an dock that allows you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as many in terms of cleaning configuration options in its app or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the price tag.

If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are many other options on the market. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is a bit more expensive and has many more features, like stairs and a fully-function Dock, which provides the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on plain floors, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

Eufy is an Anker company with an established track record of making robot vacuums that have the right combination of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors as well as carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. It's easy to set it up, simply connect one of the side brush, turn it on and connect your charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock close to an outlet for power and ample space to allow it to move around however.

The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is more subtle when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral fashion over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.

The way that the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from other models. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable items that are in its path. It can remember the items it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it's time to recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it started.

The elegant G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It has a larger dust bin, which does not require as much emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30, however is more affordable and is much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't have to be emptied as often and it's less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
