The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin, which removes major maintenance sources and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room and vacuum the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of households, but it also fits perfectly next to a coffee table or on shelves where you can move it around like a magic tool.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system removes allergens, and then releases cleaner air back into your home. (A second run usually works). That's not to say this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It was able to remove all kinds of debris and sizes in our tests, and frequently went over the same area multiple times to give an extensive clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice touch.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top picks and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and often runs out of power before returning to its home base.
