For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and can be used while you are at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for a wet one in minutes.
