The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the degree of dirt they are.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose models with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your home using the app or voice commands.
