For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and can work when you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).
