1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it fills up.

Both robots do well picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other Top Rated Robot Vacuum-rated robots we test. It can get stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning from where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes about three hours to recharge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line, and it comes with the latest technology. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot best home vacuum cleaner to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your robot using the app or via voice.

In our testing the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room and vacuum an area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is an automobile. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households however, it can also fit nicely on the table for a coffee or shelves where you can move it around like the magic device.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and collect large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It quickly switches from floor robot vac to handheld vacuum, and then back to floor.

This model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments and the Wand. This is a huge improvement over previous Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's main drawback is its limited run time. As CR's tests show, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. It's enough time to vacuum the average-sized home, but not enough to get into every corner. (A second run usually works). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our testing, and it frequently goes over the same areas several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges, which is a nice addition.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and help you navigate your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, like our top picks, the i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. Because of this, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it frequently will run out of battery before making it back to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and can better navigate itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It is also more durable and has a stronger motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name you see on all sorts of home electronics, so it comes as no surprise that they're also one of the top robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app offers a wide range of customization options for your robotic vacuum cleaner sale cleaner. This includes virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations, docking frequency settings and many more. The app is easy to use and understand similar to other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it did not do particularly well at avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a deterrent for some buyers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that is accessible through the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or kids when you're away from home. The filter and dustbin can be cleaned to make cleanup quick and easy. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to cause confusion for other robots I've tested. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, without registering it as a cliff. Also, the ability to set up a weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
