Trials that have a high pragmatism score tend to have higher eligibility criteria than traditional RCTs which have very specific criteria that aren't likely to be present in clinical practice, and they include populations from a wide variety of hospitals. These characteristics, according to the authors, can make pragmatic trials more useful and applicable in everyday clinical. However, they don't guarantee that a trial will be free of bias. The pragmatism principle is not a definite characteristic the test that doesn't have all the characteristics of an explicative study may still yield reliable and beneficial results.
