It may be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it may encounter. Also, keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is depleted, it returns to the docking station and automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it left off. The battery's life span is approximately an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes 3 hours to charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that allows it to map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot through the app or via voice.

The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes.
