1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often plough right through). It's the first robot sweeper (www.meetme.com post to a company blog) to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, meaning you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills easily leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app, which lets you schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean areas you do not want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.

Its design is also an improvement over the rest and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base automatic hoover robot Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the automatic floor vacuum. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel that other robots couldn't do. It did all of this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.

The j7+, although not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an option for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and it can be difficult to tell whether they're working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best roborock vacuum choice is probably one that is a hybrid. This kind of robot usually has a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home simultaneously. They also have a number of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they can be expensive at retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. disappoint. It's their most affordable robot vacuum auto-empty model. While it's not equipped with certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums do not excel in. The Q5+'s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled via only a few buttons on your device or through the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map, or re-label the rooms.

If you select the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is simple. It comes with a huge LCD screen, which is useful for setting up schedules or changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for the majority of people but it can help you keep track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly clever in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design and features are some of the top available - but it's also pricey.

The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and the size is relatively compact. The primary selling point of the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions, and chores that other robots leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive, too. It's the only robovac that I've used that has done a good job picking up dirt from floors that aren't. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, which means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and isn't equipped with a dock to create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.

While it doesn't offer the same amount of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price price.

But if you want to save some money or simply don't care about the limitations of this robotic there are many other options available, including a lot of eufy models that cost considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers the same experience in the app, but with additional features such as stair climbing, a full-function dock, and superior overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, a Anker company, has a track record of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet floors, as well as a mopping function for a low cost. It's simple to set up, simply connect one of the side brush and turn it on, then plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock must be located near an outlet and have plenty of space to move.

The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, so it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, with a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs an area in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what separates it from its rivals. It makes use of an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable items in its path. It can remember the things it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 has its flaws, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin, which does not require more emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials like cereal.
