This type of robot typically comes with a built-in tank for water which means they can vacuum and mop your home at the same time. These bots also come with many additional features such as smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't perform to the standards. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it's not equipped with some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save a few hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles like wall legs and table legs which makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums can really fall short. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is fantastic as well, with only a few missing in corners and on walls.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled using a few buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas, adjust your home map, or change the room's label.

If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto vacuum-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make this machine easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place it can be done with relative ease. It also comes with an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, however it can help you effectively keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design and function are some of the top available however, it's also expensive.

It's a small base station that looks great and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling feature is the way it automatizes various tasks and functions that other robots will leave to you. Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive, too. It's the only robovac that I've tested that does well at picking up debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it can get stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and doesn't come with a dock that can create a cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

While it doesn't offer as many in terms of cleaning options available in its app, or as many in-app shortcuts like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comprehensive mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the price price.
