The purpose of the clinical evaluation is to determine if there is an impairment. The CPT impairment index provides an indication of the sensitivity. It is determined from the Full Scale Attention Quotient, the Full Scale Response Control, and the Total ADHD summation.

Hyperactivity and inattention scores of more than 6 on the CPT are considered to be a sign of ADHD. A Qb-Score of 1.5 for healthy individuals is considered to be the minimum to determine ADHD.

Results of the study indicated that malingerers are over-compensating for their skill deficits. They also scored lower on both visual and auditory tasks, which led to lower visual mean scores. They could not pass the Auditory Prudence and Visual Focus tests.
