Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the chance that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The success of an upgrade is also affected by the luck of that item. Each item has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by an additional 5percent.

The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
