It's also prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive rivals. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty the areas are.

If you have a bigger home, it's worth selecting a robot that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice command. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to continue from where it left off could be very beneficial.
