Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item or mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats increase in value. The value is the sum of all its upgraded benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is due to the variety of perks that need to be modified to upgrade an item.

The level of an item is a popular measurement of power and can be found on all tooltips of items. It also serves as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is limited to an lower level). Players can see their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can evaluate the levels of the Best item upgrader. It's a measure of the item's condition and quality. The level of the item can be used to compare items when looking at a vendor's inventory.

On your PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories about how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor which determines the ilvl of an item, as the level of the region the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for example by adding an amount to its haste rating or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses them in various ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods on weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by the player's level.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. An item that is white or grey, for example, will only be upgraded one time, while an item with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times at more expensive costs.

Another way to change the stats of an item is through affixes. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items additional damage or special abilities (such as reviving dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by naming them.

Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circling arrows. It will cost a set amount in gold and items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item with specific stats, or reroll the affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will have at least one stat in that range unless they are an exclusive item, or the item is a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll attaches, or select which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the chance of finding items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives the player the chance to upgrade item their gear earlier in the game. This is more advantageous in early game runs because players tend to put the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading which increases with each item level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the type of material) for a further +40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased in the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Best item upgrader Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their items if it fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading that item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which success rates can be increased and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..

The performance of an can be affected by the luck of the item. Each item has an average success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases that chance by 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This could block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
