All affixes can be being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, similar to other rerolling methods.

Players can choose to upgrade an item upgrader mod by a specific stat or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it's an exclusive item or a God roll from a boss of a raid.

Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll the affixes, or choose which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, it would have to be done per item and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of the properties. It simply gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in the early game than later ones since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn using the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of an item, up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be bought in the shop, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the success rate of an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. There are limitations on the extent to which success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing can't exceed 100%.

The luck of an item can also influence the success of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25% and every item upgrading with Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be masked by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
