1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that many other robots are unable to avoid (and often plough right through). It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot to mop we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.

The design is also superior to the competition. It features an elegant, top piece that appears like toys rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. And the clean smart robot Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great to speed up cleaning.

In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ was quick to removed dust, dirt, and hair from pets. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able capture small gravel, sand and even a bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot do this. And all of this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates and it can be difficult to tell if they are functioning until you actually witness them in action.

Although it doesn't come with some of the expensive features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent option for those who are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an ideal choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place where cheaper robot vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few missed corners and on walls.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map or change the labels of rooms.

This means that it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do it all.

But if you want to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other options available, including a lot of eufy models for substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper however it comes with more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, that provides the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on bare floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.

The most important aspect that distinguishes the G30 apart from its competitors is the way it cleans. It uses an integrated map to create an image of the unmovable items that are in its path. It remembers the items it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.

The eufy G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged more quickly and has the same battery life while offering superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as frequently and comes with an array of boundaries that ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 is, however, is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with bulky material such as cereal.
