iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes getting rid of any clutter or toys it may encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is low it goes back to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin and then resumes cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes around three hours to recharge.

The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that allows it to map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot through the app or voice.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and to robotic vacuum cleaner a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." It was able to pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area several times for an efficient clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top picks, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and often will run out of battery before making it back to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is better able to navigate its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistance. It is also more durable and has a stronger motor, and works better on floors that are bare and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of features for automation.
