When I tried the S1 It was quick to identify our downstairs, which has Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, plus carpeting with a medium-pile and an area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without hitting them, and was able to cross raised room thresholds with no issue, though it occasionally struggled to get down stairs in a single move. The S1 also did a great job cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving smoothly on the flat side against the floor and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or rugs.

The docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and replenishes its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock provides a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1's water tank can hold enough for about twelve cleaning sessions before it has to be empty, but this can vary based on how much you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure it is operating well. You'll need to periodically rinse out the tank that has been contaminated to prevent it from becoming blocked. It is also necessary to clean your sensors and swivel wheel regularly to prevent them from getting blocked by dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

The mops are cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station as required. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as needed.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new flagship model of robot mop and vacuum comes with more impressive features. It is a great cleaner and is simple to maintain. This makes it a contender for our top list of robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection and an extended side brush will ensure an effective, customized cleaning is completed.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, getting rid of both large and fine debris. It is a great choice on carpets and hard floors. It also cleaned the most soiled areas efficiently, while keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other mess.
