The Best robot vacuum reviews Hoover

The best robot cleaner robot vacuum can vacuum and mop your floors with no effort. It will also leave them spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for hair that is tangled and large particles and clean them as required. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they utilize smart mapping to produce precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. They also come with carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it detects the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work or school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to take off and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum (read here)/mop that could complete the task of cleaning a whole home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a range of floors and rooms with mixed flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot hoover and mop vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy units of the competitors. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's still quite loud which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, but it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the Best robot vacuum cleaner UK robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, navigating more intelligently than some of its premium rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.

For larger homes it's recommended to choose one with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your home using the app or voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Finally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and an auto vacuum and mop-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app also provides access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
