Unlike some of the other robovacs we've evaluated, the i3+ EVO features an automatic emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's filled. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it still requires manually empty after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L that is enough to last four to five Self Cleaning Vacuum Cleaner sessions.
Similar to the i7, this model is equipped with state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple. The i7 can also utilize its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO is not able to do this.
Although the i3+ EVO is superior in picking up surface debris than some of the other robovacs we looked at, it's not the best automatic floor cleaner in terms of cleaning edges and corners. It's also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It was quite rough on furniture, since it moved chairs away. It also made some collisions with the sides of the test bed.
