Both robots are adept at picking up surface dirt on carpets and hard floors, and they can easily move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have tested. It could get stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it may encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. In our testing the i7+ performed quicker and more maneuverable than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy the dust bin is self-emptying that eliminates a major source of maintenance and lowers the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with vacuums that are cordless and feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like a sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets, and then pick up large dust or crumbs. It has three suction modes to suit the task that is being completed. It can quickly change from handheld to floor vacuum, and vice versa.
This model has a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also provides an easy access to two attachments as well as the handheld. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.
The biggest issue with the V10 is its limited run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading, as CR's testing shows. That's not to say this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our testing, and it often goes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice touch.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. However, it lacks the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and J7+ Series. As a result, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and low furniture, and it often is power-depleted before returning to its original location.

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.
The app offers a variety of customization options for your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior customizations docking frequency settings and many more. It's easy to understand and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. However, it didn't do particularly well with taller objects like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we tried, which might be a deal-breaker for certain shoppers.
