The robots also come with a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. Also, it doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great deal, especially if your home or office has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you're required to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to sweep floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. 3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular look that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the rivals. It's among our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful, but it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum (new content from brewwiki.win) and mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, as well as washes and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

For busy families, a recharge feature and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would think from its price. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion that is cleaner than the other robot vacuum cleaners reviews mop cleaners we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance.
