There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our top option. With a sleek circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our tests. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).
It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
Like other iRobot models like the X40 is easy to use, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and create more noise.
iRobot L20 Ultra
