The i3+ isn't able to feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It may be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it might come across. The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and sweep the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of cordless vacs that are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It has three suction modes to match the task that is being completed. It quickly converts from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum, and then back to floor.

The V10's biggest drawback is its sluggish run time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is an average not an extraordinary time to run a battery-powered cordless vac. This is enough time to sweep a typical-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second run is usually sufficient). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior for carpet floors with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive affordable robot vacuum. It's capable of sucking up most types of debris and sizes during our tests, and often goes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice feature.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. As a result, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't as sturdy, and often will run out of battery before making it back to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.
