24-Hours To Improve Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item upgrading by a certain amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's base stats increases when it is upgraded. This is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly, depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the fact that many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.
The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and can be found on all item tooltips. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can see their average level of item on their character sheet.
The level of an item can help players evaluate the potency of gear when they decide to buy or sell. It's a measure of the damage and its quality. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when examining the inventory of a vendor.
On your PC, you can check the level of the item upgrader kit using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the full description of the item, including its value. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item's level is carried out. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that determines the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the item's value. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is typically close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
This isn't the only factor that influences the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may alter its stats. For instance it can add a level to the item's haste or crit score. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item are a major part of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game utilizes them in various ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stat mods of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's level.
The upgrades to an item can boost its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times at higher prices.
Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can provide the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down the cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving a special name to the item.
Currently, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. It will cost a set amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other methods of rerolling.
In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the specified range, unless it's a unique item or a God roll from a boss of a raid.
Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. Similar to base equipment, it will have to be done per item, and the interface for item level upgrade comparison will not show all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves and is thus more valuable in the initial game run than later ones as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability, which increases with each level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be improved by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) for a further +40 luck or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.
Certain items, like the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be outfitted to increase the damage of any skill that deals damage by 5%. These items can be found in the shop or created using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
The rate of success of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading that item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which success rates can be increased and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%..
The luck of an item may affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.
It is important to note that upgrade items (speaking of) are rendered above the items in the inventory which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
