The Best robot vacuums that mop Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those looking to get rid of mopping off their to-do lists. Some have great navigation and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to choose if you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through cleaning.
It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to pick up dirt, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop rotates at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can be used to sweep larger objects, such as broken toys or books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't make the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is simple to install and works well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum solely to mop you must pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and effectively. This will result in an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite fast.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach places. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. In addition, the mop pads can be washed and dried to avoid build-up and lessen odors.
Another notable feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction strength and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.
The device is costly, but has many smart features. It is important to remember that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads should be changed every three months.
The robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuums with mop vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot vacuums That mop is divided into two parts, a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that has microfiber pads. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan which it uses to draw the path to follow when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers that help to keep certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture many of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some nice jingles that let you know when it was about to start or completing its task.
The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the necessity to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app is not able to keep multiple maps. This could be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot hoover and mop is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, but it has some unique features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock which serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.
The base comes with a couple of buttons for control, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to toggle the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it gets caught in an obstacle like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. Although this is not a common occurrence however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its application.
The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for a market dominated by clunky boxy models.
