10 Healthy Habits For Twin Stroller
Best Twin Stroller For Newborns
If you're expecting twins or two children who are similar in age, a double stroller is essential. The best double strollers offer multiple ways to ride for your children including side by side seating and a board attachment.
The Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono is Lauren Ro's favorite stroller. It can adapt to the needs of your family seamlessly. It can fit two infant car seats, as well as the toddler seat. This makes it an excellent option for twins.
Bugaboo Donkey
This is the top double stroller for families who are looking for a stylish, side-by-side double stroller. It's a bit bulkier than the other Bugaboo models however, it is solid and built to last. It has a handlebar that can be adjusted to retract and extend easily. It has a long reach so my husband, who is 6'1" is able to easily push it, even when fully laden.
The seats are large and can be set up so that one child is on top of the other, or to have the children face each the other. The seats can recline independently from each other. The canopies are large, covering both seat fabrics when desired. They're not a lot of ventilation, so they can feel like an oven on hot days. They do not have a peek-a-boo window to see the children.
One of the most distinctive features of this stroller is its ability to grow with your family from a single to double pushchair seat (Mono mode) to grow to a double side-by-side stroller. It is the only double stroller convertible that can do this. It can also be used in conjunction with an additional car seat or bassinet for infants.
It is easy to maneuver on smooth surfaces and is able to handle steps and slopes well. The only issue is that it can be difficult to navigate in busy restaurants and shops. It can be difficult to fold the seat back, especially if it's connected. It's still compact and fits through most doors.
In mono mode, there's an storage bin located next to the front seats. This is useful for groceries and other items. The main storage basket underneath the seats is huge and can accommodate up to 100 lbs. This is more than any stroller we have listed!
Uppababy Vista V2
This is one of the best twin strollers designed for new newborns. It is compatible with a range of bassinets and infant car seats (adapters sold separately) and can be used as a double stroller right out of the box. It can even accommodate two infant car seats or bassets at the same time when you purchase the Vista Upper and Lower adapters.
Comparatively to the first Vista, The V2 has made a few changes to make it better. The toddler seat is a half-inch higher, the footrest has more space and the canopy has a zip-out fabric extender that gives extra coverage. Also, the harness has been modernized - it doesn't require replaced, making it easier to adjust.
The stroller comes with big wheels (8" in front and 11.5" in back) and a robust suspension system that can handle any terrain. The front wheels are made of rubber and are ideal for navigating through rocks, gravel and cobblestones, while the rear wheels have more tread to conquer grassy hills and sidewalks.
A child's bicycle can be connected to the front of a stroller. This is a great choice for parents who do not want to use an infant car seat. If you have a child who is old enough to stand up then the Vista stroller can accommodate an additional child using its piggyback board accessory.
Vista is a simple device to use. Vista is simple to use and set up, though it takes some time to take it out of the protective packaging. The instructions are simple to follow, and there's an YouTube video to help if you require help understanding the instructions.
Thule Urban Glide 3
The Thule Urban Glide 3 stroller is the latest version of this popular all terrain stroller. It's designed to appeal to families that are looking for style, sustainability and adventure. It comes with exciting upgrades like a built-in foot rest and an updated reclined seat, which offers the best comfort for children on long walks and jogs. Its sleek, agile design also enhances its maneuverability.
It is extremely light, making it simple to drive and swift to accelerate on the off road double buggy. Its suspension can cope with sudden changes in surface (such as grass to pavement) and the large tires provide enough traction for any terrain. It is able to climb kerbs with no difficulty and can turn in tight spaces such as city streets with precision. It's even a breeze to navigate narrow sidewalks and crowded parks.
While the new Urban Glide 3 offers superior performance, it retains the classic Thule characteristics that make it the ideal jogger for parents. This includes an oversized canopy that provides great sun protection, an easy-to-see window that can be opened for peekaboo, a top-quality harness system and a handbrake integrated with an incredibly tuned lever. It offers plenty of storage space, including pockets inside the seat as well as a huge cargo bag that can hold up to 15 pounds.
This Thule Jogger also comes with an infant bassinet for babies who need to stroll, and a double buggy newborn version that can accommodate two children. It is compatible with car seat adapters, so you can use your infant carrier and it features a simple fold that is one-handed, making it easy to transport or put away. It's also a green choice that uses dyed solution-dyed fabrics in black colors to reduce water consumption.
Cortina Together
Created for the growing family, Cortina Together offers parents flexible seating options that can be adjusted to each child's unique needs and preferences. The double stroller's two standard stroller seats have reclining backrests and independent canopies. The seats are also designed to accept Chicco's KeyFit or KeyFit 30, the top baby car seat that is rated the highest in both the front and rear seat. (Car seat sold separately).
A comfortable three-position handle can be used by dad or mom, and a rear zipper access large basket offers ample storage space for your gear. The tandem double stroller's wheels and suspension ensure a smooth ride on all terrains, and the one-touch linked rear brakes with toe-tap activation make stopping a breeze.
In our Strollers & Multiples laboratory tests, Cortina Together received high marks for ease of usage. This is based on how simple it is to set up and fold the stroller and adjust the safety harness and open and close the snack tray, engage and deengage the brakes, lift and carry the stroller as if placing it in a trunk and for double strollers compatible, install and remove the infant car seat.
We did discover some flaws to this model, however. First, it's heavy. It weighs 36.6 pounds when fully loaded and is closer to the beast side of our metric than the average for this group of strollers. Additionally, it has limited visibility in the back seat when the car seat is in place. Lastly the front tray release is sometimes difficult to operate, especially after prolonged use. Despite these issues we still think that this is a great stroller to have for your family.
Jeep Double Stroller
The Jeep Destination Ultralight Side x Side Double Stroller is an affordable, lightweight stroller that's perfect for families with two kids. Its front swivel lock wheels rotate to move on flat surfaces, and secure for stability on bumpy ones making it easy to go where you want to go. It has a compact folding umbrella that can be closed in a matter of seconds. It also stands upright to make moving it easier. Its lightweight aluminum frame, foam handles and straps for carrying make it one of the easiest to lift double strollers that we have tested.
This side-by-side stroller offers seating that reclines independently and foot rests to ensure maximum comfort for both children. Its canopy is large and offers UPF 50 protection and also comes with an open view for easy monitoring. We'd like to see the canopy vented to let in more airflow however. We didn't like the fact that the cup holder sits extremely high on the frame. You'll have to bend down to reach it.
In our tipping test, the Jeep tipped over at a 39 degree angle, which is higher than the norm for a pushchairs double (Instapages.Stream) pram. It's also heavier than our top picks but it offers an adequate amount of storage space for the price and comes with plenty of padding on the seats and handle.
This stroller is multi-functional, and offers three modes. It can be used as a walker (for stuff) as well as a jogger mode (with two safety belts with five points for children) as well as a car seat mode. It can accommodate one car seat for infants, but pediatricians recommend waiting until your child is 6 months old before jogging with them. They should also be 1 year old before letting them run on rough terrain. It comes in black and comes with a lifetime warranty.
