1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.
