The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping and robot vacuums best vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to remove mopping from their list of things to do. They have impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best robot cleaner navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through cleaning.
It's efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one motion. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as impressive. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms extend out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger debris like broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It is simple to install, and it works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a variety of features.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home and also detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and effectively. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other hard to reach areas. They also have a flexible side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction intensity and choose either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device has a expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of advanced features. It's crucial to keep in mind that it has regular costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every one to three month.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high rating on Amazon and comes with a wide variety of physical automation features. The robot cleaner vacuum also has an power button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two modules, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping module which has a microfiber pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise floorplan which it uses to determine the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your house from being cleaned with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able capture many of the hair our cats shed, and even got into some of the nooks and crannies on our stairs where other robots have struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low and there were lovely jingles that let you know that it was beginning and finishing its work.
The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the necessity to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't contain multiple maps, which could be a pain if you have a home with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and an 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to start a cleaning job, recall the robot, or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to switch on a child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognising objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert on its application.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy models.
