The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test. It may get stuck on power cords and socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.
iRobot suggests that you clean up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. Also, keep the filters and dust bin clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+'s internal bin is filled or the battery is depleted it goes back to its docking station and automatically empties its dirt into the station's dust bin and continues cleaning where it began. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line and is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most important feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or via voice.
In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying which eliminates a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and sweep the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of vacuums that are cordless and are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model feels like an automobile. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in many households, but it also fits perfectly next to the coffee table or the bookshelf, where you can move it around like a magic device.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and pick up large crumbs or fine dust. This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on low-pile floor carpet.

The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and it frequently goes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice touch.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series.
