We had the chance to test drive the EV9 for a few hours on a local highway and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The vehicle's acceleration is surprising quick, and it has adjustable regenerative brakes to enable "one-pedal driving" simply by lifting off the accelerator.

The EV9 provides a large range and can be recharged within three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. Drivers can choose between two modes of operation that include eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode focuses on the torque, cruise control and handling while sport mode maximizes speed. Both modes are fun to drive, and offer a unique experience for those who have never driven an electrical vehicle before.

In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, including a multi-purpose all-electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be utilized as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit vanpool, bus or paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower is currently producing around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 fully power electric scooter vehicles. With the Biden Administration planning to electrify school buses across the country, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified.
