The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. Some of them have excellent mapping and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.
It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger debris like broken toys and books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's easy to install and performs well however this is something that you'll need to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also rapid.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
The device is costly, but has many smart features. It's crucial to note that it incurs recurring expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.
The robot vacuums that Mop vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and includes many physical automation features. These include a power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or just want an organized home that doesn't require hours doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid option. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life make it simple to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuums uk vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean you don't need to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair from pets. It was able capture the majority of hair that our cats shed, and even was able to get into the nooks and crannys of our stairs while other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were lovely jingles that inform you that it was starting and working towards its goal.
Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the necessity to swap out the modules when switching between vacuuming and mopping. The app can't contain multiple maps, which can be a problem for homes with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its massive dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base comes with a few control buttons, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot vacuums that mop or run the dock's automatic hoover emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni does not have an "stuck" status alert on its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, the mopping pad isn't washed or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
