The best automatic vacuum and mop Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Make sure you regularly examine the brushes of your robot for hair tangled as well as large debris, and wash them when required. Some models can also self-empty the dust bin on board and then deposit it in an additional bin located at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in cleaning dog hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and operates when you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, however it falls behind some competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could sweep the entire house with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' boxes This mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum/mop that has 100% in our tests thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum cleaner reviews we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive however, not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient, but it's more expensive and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house depending on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For larger houses, it's worth opting for models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a specific area of your home using the app or via voice commands. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have lot furniture. Also, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might think from its price. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to organize an automatic spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It is equipped with a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs to remove pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, however it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
