9 . What Your Parents Taught You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.
Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a set number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's basic stats increase when it is upgraded. This value is the total of all of its leveled up advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the variety of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an item.
It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.
Using the item level will allow players to compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's an excellent indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's capable of dealing with. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a seller.
The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its level. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are a few theories on how the calculation of an item upgrading's level is done. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated by a formula that calculates how valuable the stats of an item really are. It considers that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is often very close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl as the level of the region the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, for example by adding an amount to its crit rating or haste rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher value.
Item Stats
The stats of an item are a major part of what determines the value of an item upgrading for players. The game makes use of them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to explore other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat modification which are then boosted by the player's level.
Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher costs.
Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item level upgrade by the player, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Affixes can provide the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving dead or reducing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting an additional name to the item.
All affixes are being re-rolled right now by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as other rerolling options.
Players can choose to upgrade an item to a specific stat, or reroll the affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within that range, unless it's a unique Best item upgrader or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to boost. As with the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade equipment earlier in the game. This is more beneficial in the early game, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons can be made or spawn by using the Luck property, which has the default value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item upgrade's material type) to grant an additional +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.
Furthermore, certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shops or made with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Item upgrades are expensive and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading the item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which success rates can be increased and the probability of a failed upgrade cannot be greater than 100%..
The success of an item can be affected by the luck of the item. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases this chance by 5percent.
The item upgrade overlays are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
