In our testing, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session, move itself around the room, and even vacuum the area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. When connected we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world of cordless vacs that feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for many households, but it also fits nicely on the table for a coffee or shelves where you can move it around like a magic device.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have lots of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It was able to remove the majority of types of debris and sizes during our testing and often went over the same area multiple times for an efficient clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice addition.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more advanced models like our top picks such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.
