Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of equippable items such as weapons, armor, and trinkets up to a certain amount. They can be purchased at any item upgrader NPC using the appropriate currency.
Upgrade components are integrated into equipment to give attribute bonuses and extra effects. They are generally slot-restricted, but there are certain universal upgrades.
Rerolling
In Diablo 4, a player can reroll a item upgrade. This is done through the Level Up feature, which stops your game and shows four randomly-chosen upgrades. The player is able to select one of the upgrades and continue the battle. Rerolling costs the same as a regular Level Up. However players should be cautious when choosing an upgrade because they won't know what the new stats will be until the item has been being rerolled.

Costs

Upgrades to an item can cost gold and/or Dilithium depending on the type of item. Additionally, many upgrades require Flightstones or crests.
