The best rated robot vacuum Robot Hoover

The best rated robot vacuum robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Be sure to inspect your robot's brushes for tangled hair and large debris, and wash them when needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dust bin and place it in a larger bin at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also have the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For one, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good value particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could complete the task of cleaning a whole home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was excellent, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes this mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also happens to be its smartest, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's a noisy unit that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however, it's going to cost you more and create more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of an array of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For larger homes it's recommended to choose a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house using the app or voice controls. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. For families that are busy recharge functions and resume feature that permits your best robot hoover vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize a spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app also gives access to many features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute little eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also louder than other top best rated robot vacuum vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's less intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
