Upgrade components
Upgrade components are things that can be slotted into weapons, armor trinkets and gathering tools to give an additional benefit or bonus when the equipment is utilized. They can be bought by players or vendors, scavenged or gotten as rewards, or made with crafting materials. Upgrade items can have cosmetic effects in addition to offering bonus points for attributes.
Upgrade components can include inscriptions, enhancements and infusions. They are not available for general use and can only be used on equipment that is ascended, or certain non-ascended weaponry from the Factions Campaign. Infusions, inscriptions and enrichments can be retrieved from equipment using an Infusion Extraction Device or saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Phoenix Boxes unlike other upgrade items, can be traded and re-used when still attached to the item that is being upgraded. These upgrades are the Best item upgrade method to increase the quality of your weapon and armor quality without spending Dilithium in the sense that they increase the likelihood of receiving a high-quality upgrade by two times.
An upgrade component in an item can be replaced with a different one however, it will destroy the original one (except for upgrades of legendaries and equipment with ascended levels). Only upgraded items with an identification level of 0 or greater can include upgrade components them. Adding an upgrade to an existing weapon equipped with a prefix or suffix upgrade will display the name of the new item in the same way as it appears in game (for instance adding an Radiant Insignia to Canthan Armor will cause it to be named Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). A player can own up to three upgrade items at a time.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be an excellent addition to any product. They offer unique advantages and boosts. Some Glyphs can also increase the number of affixes attached to an item, thereby increasing its overall strength. These glyphs are acquired by working through the dungeons. Some can even be found in certain World Tier 3 zones. It's important to keep in mind that glyphs cannot be used on a character who has not created a root dungeon with the same depth.
To use a Glyph, you must first build it from components and connect them to anchors. Then the component will automatically align itself to other components and paths in the same layer. If you don't wish to create the glyph using components, you can use an array of anchors and paths. Drag an element in close proximity to an element highlighted to lock it in place.
Some glyphs require certain conditions to be met for example, 25 Dexterity in a specific area on the Paragon Board. Some require a specific number of Primary Stat nodes to be activated and can be a challenge to achieve. Certain glyphs have a radius that increases with each level.
Glyphs are used for many different items and can be added to any weapon, except for the weapons of specific classes. Certain glyphs require conditions for instance, having a certain number of damage from Dexterity or Attack in a particular area on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph boosts the chance of blocking enemy attacks by 5percent. It also has 15% chance to render the Hero vulnerable for 2 turns.
There are also a handful of glyphs that can be added to tools with limited-use capabilities like the Black Lion Chest or Trading Post. Adding these glyphs will contribute to the Combat Mechanic achievement.
The most popular glyphs used in the game are the attack ones which boost Artifacts' ATK substats by a fixed value. These glyphs are especially beneficial for classes that use weapons that are ranged, like Warriors or Rogues. Other glyphs include the Exploit Glyph, which makes enemies that hit the Hero susceptible to damage.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are special tokens that are used to reroll the results rolled while taking an Action. They are discarded when the reroll happens. Reroll tokens are accessible in many ways, such as through dungeons and raids, or through participating in skirmishes. They can also be purchased in the store or from other players. They are especially beneficial in dungeons or trials because they allow players to roll rewards from the end of the chest.
For items that are at level 1, there are values for recycling points. The upgrade gauge will increase by a certain amount of points each time you recycle an item. This is based on the rarity of the item upgrader mod as well as its level. Additionally the upgraded item won't retain its level when rerolled and the cost for recycling an upgraded item rises with the level of the item.
The player may also use reroll tokens in order to reroll an item. However it won't bring back the item's original stats, or level. This is a great option for players who wish to reroll a product they aren't happy with, but want to keep it in their collection.
Three different types of upgrade coins are available in the game: Reroll, randomly generated and upgrade. Each type has several subtypes. For example, reroll tokens come in three different levels: enhanced, rare and legendary. Each level requires an item from its respective level to create the new Best item upgrader of that level.
To use reroll tokens, click on the Satanic or Angelic item in the inventory and select "Reroll Token". Select a type of token. The tokens available are Item, Weapons, Misc, 1hguns, 2hguns and Focus. The Item token can be used to create an Item in any quality. Utilizing a Weapon or Misc token will result in an entirely new weapon belonging to the same faction.
There is also the possibility that the Item upgrader kit could be upgraded into a new item upgrade with an increased level and the same additional stats. This is likely to happen when the item is in the Pool that cannot be dropped or was transferred to it as part of the Franchise Card.
